Cemetery Map Plotting & VerificationWe are currently in the process of mapping & computerizing the cemetery records of our cemeteries which is a huge project. Unfortunately, cemetery records were not processed the same at each of the cemeteries and have created a lot of confusion. We have current aerial views to assist us when the cemeteries are "walked" to confirm the information we have recorded is correct. We could not "walk" the cemeteries during the winter which is another delay. We thank you for your patience during this transition.

Grave Purchases & TransfersIf you would like to purchase a grave, change names designated on a family plot, or transfer ownership of a plot, please call the Church office at (814) 948-6842.
An Easement or Transfer Certificate (proof of purchase) will be processed by Prince of Peace Cemeteries and must be provided to Prince of Peace Cemeteries or to the Funeral Home prior to digging a grave. Cemetery Policies & FeesThe Diocesan Cemetery Policy directs that each Catholic Cemetery establish its own local policy. The Prince of Peace Cemetery Committee has established a common set of policies for all Prince of Peace-managed cemeteries. A downloadable PDF copy of the complete Prince of Peace Cemetery Policy is below which includes current purchasing & burial fees.

MonumentsWe welcome families who wish to install a monument / marker immediately after purchasing a plot. It makes things flow much more smoothly for everyone and eliminates confusion. Many families wish to install the marker after a burial. We suggest waiting until the following spring after a burial to install the marker, as it gives time for the ground to settle and makes it less likely that the monument will shift due to ground settling.
ALL foundation work is to be done by F&G Monuments, LLC located at 517 Bridge Street in Hastings, PA (16646). This form is to be submitted by your chosen Monument Company and approved by Prince of Peace Cemetery Association before any monuments are installed (use updated file below).
BurialsFuneral Directors may contact us directly for locations of graves for already purchased graves. New grave purchases may be purchased through the Funeral Home or by contacting us directly. Please read the Cemetery Policies & Fees before
Prince of Peace will be responsible for marking the grave(s) so the grave digger can prepare the site for the upcoming burial and will provide the Grave Digger. The Funeral Home will include the grave digging fee in their Funeral preparation costs, or the family or may pay the Grave Digger directly. If needed, please contact us for the name of the Grave Digger at the Cemetery where the burial will take place. Please note that ONLY pre-approved Grave Diggers will be permitted to dig graves and will be provided by Prince of Peace Cemeteries. No exceptions. |
