May 1st, 2022
A professional soccer player turned priest, a man nicknamed the “Dynamic Deacon,” and a mixed martial arts champ are the headliners for an upcoming men’s conference sponsored by the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown. Titled “Strength in Christ,” the gathering is scheduled for Sunday, May 1, 2022, at Noon at Saint Francis University in Loretto. The speakers are Father Chase Hilgenbrinck, a professional soccer player turned priest in the Diocese of Peoria, Illinois; Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers, a dynamic evangelist, author, and radio host; and Bas Rutten, a mixed martial arts champion and TV/movie star who openly shares his Catholic journey.
The conference is open to all men 18 and older, and includes lunch, the opportunity for Reconciliation, and a closing Mass at 5:00 p.m. with Bishop Mark, which is open to the families of the conference attendees. The cost is $10. Please register online at dioceseaj.org or pick up a registration form in the church office and mail to the Diocese.
