Father Matt's Updates

Updated - PLEASE READ - PUBLIC MASS IS BACK!

5/28/2020

UPDATED!   WE GOT NEW DIRECTIVES AS OF 5/29/2020 - Please note the Changes Below

We had taken a lot of time planning a whole process for public communion and for getting people back to mass.  However, late Friday afternoon we got an update that in all parishes as of June 13th we are now permitted to observe the "6 foot rule" for occupancy. That means that we can basically resume our normal weekend schedule that weekend!

I had recorded a whole video explaining our process for public communion, for mass with 25 people, but as of this morning, all of that has just gone out the window since we'll be able to return to our normal mass schedule.

Step 2:  Public Communion (for the weekend of June 6-7)
Everyone is invited to watch mass on Stream/TV then come to the Church for communion.
  • Please remain 6-ft apart from the next household, there are markings on the floor to help.
  • Enter the Church via the front steps.
  • Proceed to communion in a single-file line.
  • Remove your mask just before receiving and replace after.
  • If receiving on the tongue, please stay to the back of the line.
  • You may stay a few minutes to pray after receiving.
  • Exit via the Handicap Door.
  • Father will sanitize hands after every few people or if any physical contact occurs.
  • For those unable to stand in line, please wait until towards the end.
Public Communion Times:
  • Saturday:  5:30pm-6pm at the Church
  • Sunday:  9:00am-9:30am at the Holy Cross Chapel
  • Sunday:  12:30pm-1pm at the Church

Step 3:  Public Mass With Social Distancing (beginning June 13-14)

For Weekend Masses:
New Mass Schedule beginning June 13th:
  • Saturday:  4:00pm Mass at the Church
  • Sunday:  8:00am Mass at Holy Cross Chapel
  • Sunday:  11:00am Mass at Church
Communion will be available for 10-15 minutes after mass for anyone who wishes to receive communion, but is not comfortable staying for the regular mass.

Seating at Mass:
  • Households can sit together.
  • Please sit at least 6 foot from next household, (pews are marked to make this easier).
  • There will be other adaptations that will be explained at mass that weekend.

Masks:
  • Anyone under 12 years old does not need a mask.
  • 12-18 masks preferred.
  • 18+ please wear mask unless you have a medical condition.

Lectors/Altar Servers:
  • Will  resume June 13th.
  • All Lectors/Altar Servers are asked to either use the online form on our website under “Mass Signups” to state their preferences OR call the church to let us know when you are available/unavailable.
  • 4:00pm/11:00am will be streamed, (ONLY those in the sanctuary will be seen on camera).
  • Parents of Altar Server: the first time your child serves, please stop by the sacristy to fill out a photo release.
  • Confirmed Catholics who would like to become Lectors, or Families with a child in 4th-11th grade who would like to begin to serve, please call the Church office.

Let us celebrate that we are returning to the sacraments!

God Bless, -Fr Matt
